Baber Studio is an Architecture practice based in Brisbane, Australia. Their approach to design combines research-based exploration of material, space and structure in the making of practical and functional spaces.

Kim Baber is a registered architect, and Principal of Baber Studio. Over the last 15 years he has acquired a wide range of experience both abroad and in Australia as an architectural practitioner and researcher. Having previously worked for Donovan Hill architects locally, and EMBT architects Barcelona; Kim Baber has performed lead roles for award winning projects from the domestic scale to commercial, urban design and master planning projects. Kim is also a part time fellow at the School of Architecture, University of Queensland and a member of the ‘Centre for Future Timber Structures’ research groupd. In 2015 Kim was awarded the QLD Emerging Architect Prize awarded by the Australian Institute of Architects, and in 2016 the Gottstein fellowship for timber research.
As a Founding Principal of Baber Studio, Monique Baber’s expertise focused on interdisciplinary projects combining architecture and site specific artworks. Her skills in collaborating with creative teams were honed while working with Urban Art Projects. As senior project manager, Monique was previously responsible for Queensland State Government procurement of public artworks. Her expertise brought to the practice included design, procurement of major state public artworks, management of temporary artworks for events and overseeing artwork production.
